New Year Martial Blowout

Yes Happy New Year to all , over the past 7-8 weeks we have been busy on site putting together some new event features and special articles based on Famous Martial artists / History of  Hong Kong Cinema in the UK in the 80' /90's as well as quite a few reviews.

Since last time there have been quite few reviews listed on site :

We have had two Bluray reviews go live ,the first being the 2009 Jingle Ma film Mulan.
The second featured Bluray title is The Banquet from 2006.

Vicki Zhao in Mulan

We have also taken a look at American releases Six Bullets with Jean Claude Van Damme and also his turn in Expendables 2 with Stallone and the likes of Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.

Another great film reviewed is the quirky but 70's style Japanese film Karate Robo Zaborgar from Noburo Iguchi.

Karate Robo Zaborgar ,one crazy film ,but so much fun!

Could be a romance here!

We have some classic films heading your way ,with a look at the Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton film Rage and Honour . Then our Bluray special this month is ''By the Will of Genghis Khan'' with Edvard Ondar.

Our new release film films ( subject to availability) are Forced to Fight which sees Gary Daniles return to a full blooded martial arts movie in the lead role and action film ''Kill'em All '' from the producers of Bangkok Adrenalin.

Six weeks of action on site in our Christmas run-up

Hi all
Yes back with a another installment in what's going down on K.I.T.G.
Well since last update we have been quite busy with our Korean special on site and all this has fallen inline with the London Korean Film Festival which we have attended on a few occasions in the last ten days.

Reviews up now on site include

War of Arrows on Bluray
The Kick -a Thai / Korean co-production about a family of Taekwondo experts living in Thailand who get involved in a plot to steal national treasures .

Continuing with the Korean theme we will have a review of The Thieves from director Choi Dong-Hun and KPOP comedy ''PAPA'' on site shortly ,all to tie in with our coverage of the Korean Film Festival in London.

KPOP comedy PAPA

The opening Gala film ,The Thieves

Future reviews and features on site include the new Wong Jing film which is the third in the Naked series of films ,yes Naked Soldier is imminent ,it stars Jennifer Tse and Sammo Hung among the players.

Also look out for further Bluray features as we get through another couple of  Europe region Bluray's that offer more kick for your money.

Where also waiting on a couple of Japanese cult movies in the form of 2010's Mutant Girls Squad and 2011 Karate Robo Zarborgar. We just love these wacky flicks ,though there rarely for the faint of heart or those under 18 years of age.

We also look at what the likes of Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme have been doing of late as we tackle a couple of  recent straight to video releases.

On the games front ,our resident games expert has finalised his  Shenmue overview and it's up on site now. Also in the gaming department his coverage of the Eurogamer Expo is complete , published in three installments across each of the groups sites ,the first part appears on K.I.T.G. with successive installments appearing on Shoot'em in the Head.co.uk and Cosplay Heroes.co.uk  .

This also means he's free to cover some more gaming gems and of course the new Nintendo Wii U launch which happens in a little under three weeks.

Of note the sites Virtua Fighter page is offline now while it under go's a revamp ,will be back in the new year with a new look and brought bang up to date.

Feature wise we will be attending the Hyper Japan Christmas show at the end of November ,so look  out for a feature on the event with photos and video.

Another feature is we take a preview look at the forthcoming Jackie Chan film CZ12 .it's out on the 12-12-2012 in Asian cinemas ,so a DVD and Bluray release will be shortly afterwards. We build up to the launch of the film and show how Jackie really is the Man and still has what it takes to astonish audiences like he did way back in the 80's.

MCM Expo,New films, and Hong Kong Film Festival

Yes i decided to update the blogger site ,so since last update we have of course attended the MCM eXpo in May, the show was good and fell on the hottest three days of the year. With a hall full of games to play ,stars of TV and Film appearing ,with Sunday playing Host to Film Star Danny DeVito ,who entertained the crowd with his many stories.

New reviews on site have been quite rounded in that we have covered some great films from around the Far East.
Our review of ''Inseparable '' with Daniel Wu and Kevin Spacey went live a couple of weeks back, and after receiving the full uncut version of Taiwanese epic ''SEEDIQ BALE'' ,our review went live a few days ago showcasing the Terracotta Far East Film Festival screening and the full version on DVD.

Seediq Bale aka Warriors of the Rainbow

Iko Uwais in The Raid.

Also our review of the Gareth Edawards film''The Raid '' went live to after catching up with the film. The star Iko Uwais looks set to be the next big martial arts star ,but then i have been saying that since seeing ''Merantu'' 18 months back. Though everyone has been saying here have you seen the Raid ,the guys amazing. So for all you out there tellin me ,get this ''I TOLD YOU FIRST ''.

Plus we also looked at the new Tsui Hark remake of  his 1992 film ''New Dragon Gate'' ,yes we reviewed the 2D version of ''The Flying Swords of Dragon GATE 3D''  with Jet Li in the lead role.

Tsui Hark returns to Wuxia and Jet Li comes along for the Ride.

As i type we are in the middle of covering the recently announced HK15 Film Festival in London. ,for more details visit our sites calendar page where you can find the info on the festival that runs until the 14th of July at the Odeon Covent Garden in Londons Shaftsbury Avenue. More news on this shortly when we do a review of the show.

MCM eXpo kicks of on the 25th of May

Looking forward as always on K.I.T.G. the next event we will be at is the MCM eXpo in May at London's Excel Centre ,it runs from Friday the 25th of May till the end on Sunday Evening .Last year was the first MCM we had covered and really did not know what to expect.

Where really geared up for this year ,and will get a good overview of the games and stars at the event, and of course the many people who turn up in Cosplay to brighten up the event.

Thing is with these events ,money is easily spent with the many wonderful stalls selling ,Media ,Apparel,Trinkets and Novelia  .

Looking forward to this one Big Time. And then we get to do it all again in October when the event returns for it's winter show.

The next show in their calender  after London in May is in Manchester on the 21st of July.,Can't see us slapping to Manchester though ,bit far for a day trip.Especially if your in Cosplay..Any way they don't let warlords on Trains.

But the MCM group put these shows on across the country there was one recently in Birmingham in March and the Midlands in February. So where ever you are you can get to one of their shows.
